Kuravpur Importance / Information

29 km from Raichur. To reach the village of ‘Atakur’ on the meter, one has to walk a short distance to the shores of Krishna to reach Kuravpur Island. There is now a boat facility to go beyond. The experience of crossing the river Krishna is different in every season.

The river bed is surrounded by Ajastra rocks. We cross four such streams one after the other. Directly in front, from the gate near the bastion of Kuravpur village, on the west side of the footpath, on the left hand side, we reach the temple of Shripad Srivallabha, near the east gate. The island is approximately three miles long, three furlongs wide and curved. The following sights on the island are worth seeing.

Shripad Temple

Shree's temple is aisle. There are two stone slabs on either side of the magnificent door of the temple. Next to it are stone walls. There is an arch on the Mahavdara. There are two porches for the guards to sit on, as they bend down and gently touch each other. There is a magnificent Ashwattha (Pimpal), a neem tree, built on a stone cross. On both the north corners of the mercury are carved stone arches. There are two south facing temples on this hill, one has a linear idol of Maruti of black Shaligram stone facing south and the other temple has Keshavmurti and Shivling Paduka. In front of this para is the main place of worship, where Shripad Srivallabh used to perform chanting-tap-anushthanadi karma. This is called 'Nirgun Peeth' Par. Since Maharaj himself is invisible in that place, there are no padukas in different forms. This is where divine experiences are found. Of course, that requires a lot of sadhana.

  Shri Tembeswami Guha

This cave is natural and ancient. In this place, Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati Tembeswami conducted Chaturthashramiya Chaturmas in 1910. Now a Shiva temple has been built at this place.
At this place, Tembe Swami Maharaj composed the Ghorakshtodharan Stotra, which is a panacea for every crisis.

Maharaj used to sit here for penance. There is enough chincholi waiting to be crawled inside. Inside, the cave has a height and space that can accommodate only one person. The atmosphere of Kuravpur, which is very crowded and untouched by human beings, is full of purity and vibrancy. It just feels there.
Kuravpur (Dist. Raichur) Karnataka is an area on an island in the river Krishna. There is water all around this area. Shripad Vallabhbha lived in this area for 14 years. Shri Dutt incarnate Yogiraj Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati (Tembeswami) was introduced to the eighteen letter mantra Digambara Digambara Shripad Vallabh Digambara at this place. This is the place where Vasudevanand Saraswati's sanctified cave is located. It was at this place that Shri Pachlegaonkar Maharaj met Shripad Vallabh.

Datta devotee Vitthal Baba has established an ashram called Vallabhpuram near the village of Panchdev Pahad. Accommodation and meals are provided in this ashram. There is a car parking facility in this ashram for those who go to Kuravpur by their own car. Vallabhpuram Ashram is the court of Sri Sripad Vallabh Swami. This is the place where Shripad Srivallabh Swami used to come to wear sun salutation. Signs of this can still be seen today.

Audumbar tree

The Audumbar tree on this island is very graceful. Katta is built here for parayan. The priests and their families working in this place provide accommodation, food, tea etc. to the pilgrims who come here. Facilities are done at nominal cost. As there is no other practical means on this island, the whole island is a hotspot. From the heart those who want to do the service, parayan, chanting, rituals of Shri Gurudatta. This is a paradise for them. No one is bothered. Speakers, radios, TVs are not interrupted only in private. The importance of this place is not understood just by saying, reading or listening. Just like she doesn't understand how sweet sugar is without eating it.

This area has become very holy as many Mahatmas have come and gone. Shri. The ascetics have stayed here.

There are many rocks in the wide bed of Krishna river here. It seems that the sages of the past have meditated and are sitting here in the form of rocks. We have a practice. Devdarshan should not be taken without washing hands and feet. In this place, one cannot enter the temple without washing one's feet. When you set foot in the river Krishna here, the whole world is forgotten, only the Shripad temple is visible.

Kuravpur Mahatmya in

 Shri Gurucharitra

In the 10th chapter of Shri Gurucharitra, his dear disciple was on his way to Kuravpur to pay his vows when he was stopped by thieves and killed. Therefore, after the end of the incarnation, Shripad Srivallabh appeared there for the protection of his devotees and revived his disciple Vallabhbha. Such is the story of Shripad Srivallabh and his devoted devotee Vallabhesh. The place where this incident took place is Manthangad. This area is at a distance of 30 km from Kuravpur. Today there is a temple of Shripad Srivallabha at that place.

The story of Shripad Srivallabh and his devoted devotee Vallabhesh, the Guru-disciple

After hearing Siddhyogya's speech, Namdharka asked him, "How did the greatness of Kuravapura come about? You say that Shripad Srivallabh has not gone anywhere. He has remained in Kuravpura in a subtle form forever. , "Oh, what do you ask of the greatness of Sri Guru? It is beyond telling. Oh, Sri Guru Dattatreya is the universal Paramatma. However, you know that he took many incarnations on earth for the welfare of the world. He sees the test of his devotees Does not than. As soon as the devotee calls, they run for him. I will tell you a story about how Shriguru is devotional, how he manifests for the devotee.

In the past there was a Brahmin named Vallabhesh of Kashyap tribe. He was very virtuous, good-natured. He used to come to Kuravpura every year to pay obeisance to Guru. He had utmost faith and devotion to Shri Guru. He once vowed while going for trade, "If there is good profit in caste trade, I will give wish meal to Jains and one thousand Brahmins in Kurvapur Yatra." With this determination, Manoman went into business, remembering Shri Guru. Wherever he traded, he made a hundredfold profit. He was very happy. He took the money he got in trade and went to Kuravpura in remembrance of Guru. When some thieves realized this, they decided to rob him. The thief dressed as a very polite man said, 'We too have gone to see Shripadayati.' They began to go with him. Before approaching Kuravapura, the thieves beheaded the Vallabhesh Brahmin at night and looted his belongings.

At that moment, the devotee's champion, Shri Guru Shripad Dhippad, a resident of Kuravpur, appeared in front of the thieves with a trident in one hand and a sword in the other. They killed those thieves with a trident. But as soon as he saw Sriguru Shripad, one of the thieves ran away. He then came before them and clasped his hands and said, "O gracious one, Jagannatha, I am innocent. I had no idea that they would kill this Brahmin who was with me. I was just traveling with them. You are omniscient. You understand my heart."

Hearing this, Shripadayati called him closer. Giving Vibhuti in his hand, he said, "Throw this Vibhuti on this dead Brahmin." Then he stuck the head of that Brahmin on his head and applied Vibhuti all over his body as a mantra. At that moment, the Brahmin came alive and started looking around. Just then the sun rose. Shripadayati suddenly disappeared. He was the only passenger there. The bodies of others were lying there. Seeing the corpse, Vallabhesh Brahmin asked, "Who killed these men?" The fellow traveler said, "They were all thieves. They killed you and robbed you of your wealth. But at the same time, there was a dazzling and glorious good man. He was wearing a jatadhari. I surrendered to them. They put vibhuti on your body, revived you as a mantra. They disappeared immediately. They were the ones who protected you. I think it must be Lord Shankar. " Vallabhesh Brahmin heard this. The thieves were with him. Seeing this, he was convinced. Then he took all the money and went to Kuravpura. He worshiped Shriguru with all his heart. Then he fed a thousand Brahmins. He fulfilled his vow.

Many such devotees come to Kuravapura and worship the footsteps of Shripad Srivallabha. Shriguru is protecting his devotees by staying implicitly in Kuravpura. Siddhayogi said to Namdharka. Such is the greatness of Shripad Srivallabha of Kuravpura and the invisible form there. After this he will incarnate as Srinivasa Saraswati and show his wonderful character. "Saraswati Gangadhar says." Listeners! Now listen carefully to the next biography of Sriguru. So all aspirations will be fulfilled. "

(The first half of the story so far is well known but the next half is much unpublished ... Shrimat Gurucharitra is taken from the original Upanishad book.)

In the past, there was a Shivpind at the top of the temple at Kuravpur and in the cave below it were Shri's padukas. The Brahmin went upstairs to take darshan and immediately came down to darshan of Padukan, but he could not go there as Rudrabhishek was going on there. All eyes are on the feet. As the delay began, Vallabhbesh came to the rescue. The separation took place in the heart of Sosvena. What do you do god Such a situation happened!

All of a sudden, the front wall appeared transparent to him. Shripaduka was seen below and Shripad Srivallabh himself was actually seen in the background !!

Swami's form is indescribable! The light was reflected from the bright, silky saffron shroud. Rudramala was adorned on the neck. Karnakundale also belongs to Rudraksha. Jatabhar head rolled. He was also bound by Rudramala. The rosary was moving in the karakalam resting on the crutch. Second Tax Absorber Exhibitor. Straight beautiful Nashik. Smile-separated thin lips. White simple dentures peeking out of it. A very reassuring half-mixed eye lotus flowing through the love of Tribhuvana .. Vibhuti adorning the head and Tripundra. This is how Swami Padmasana was located. The lucky ones were serving back and forth. Some of the chavarya were in the shield. And surprisingly, in all of them, even the smugglers who had been speeding by Shri some time ago were standing for Shri Seva!

Here the narrator of Gurucharitra says for a moment ... Look, seeker, due to the grace and anger of Sadguru, the soul gets the same speed !!
